Web Developer

Charles Schwab is looking for a Web Developer to drive the overall design, development, and delivery of business intelligence solutions. The role requires strong technology and solution delivery acumen and will be responsible for delivering high‑quality data engineering solutions on site in the specified location.

Role Overview

  • Partner with business to understand strategic objectives, recommend solutions, and work with architects to define supporting architecture.
  • Assess new tools and software, perform POCs, and offer recommendations to improve our enterprise landscape.
  • Work closely with Informatica, Google and other product vendors to resolve product issues impacting delivery of requested features, provide workarounds, and keep deliveries on track.
  • Define standards, guidelines and best practices for design, development, and testing.
  • Perform web design, UI/backend development, data management and data analysis.
  • Create data models, performance tuning, load plans, ensuring deliverables meet functional and non‑functional requirements.
  • Plan, estimate, schedule, prioritize, and coordinate technical activities related to system development.
  • Ensure system alignment to architecture policies and best practices, and that process methodologies are followed.
  • Engage with onshore and offshore teams to ensure timely delivery of high‑quality data engineering solutions.
  • Provide mentorship and hands‑on coding support to the team.
  • Identify opportunities for system reuse and simplification.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / Information Technology or relevant experience.
  • 6+ years of professional experience in development, support, and maintenance of web and database applications.
  • 4+ years of hands‑on experience with Angular, C# and Python.
  • 3+ years of experience with Control M.
  • 3+ years of experience with GCP technologies (GCS, BigQuery, Dataproc).
  • Excellent understanding of data warehouse concepts and cloud architecture patterns for batch, near‑real‑time, and real‑time data processing/reporting.
  • Strong understanding of Agile development best practices and experience using Jira or other agile work‑tracking systems.
  • Strong SQL knowledge, shell scripting, and deep understanding of relational database concepts.
  • Expertise in Unix, PERL, and other scripting languages.
  • Familiarity with SCM and DevOps tool suites and CI/CD best practices (Git, Bamboo, Jenkins, Concourse, etc.).
  • Critical‑thinking and strong problem‑solving skills with ability to analyze and understand data.
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal skills for interacting throughout all levels of the organization.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in the Financial Services industry.
  • Ability to interpret key trends and metrics and leverage them for actionable decisions.

  • Competitive salary range of $90,000.00–$170,000.00.
