Seeds of Hope Silicon Valley (SoHSV) is a non‑profit organization focused on addressing homelessness in Santa Clara County. The Board of Directors of SoHSV seeks a dynamic, collaborative, and visionary leader to serve as the Executive Director in our mission to build a community of permanent homes for up to 1,000 chronically homeless neighbors. We are leading the effort to bring the innovative Community First Village model from Austin, Texas to the Bay Area and welcome your partnership in transforming lives.

About the Role

As a Volunteer Web Developer, you will be responsible for assisting in the design, development, and maintenance of the organization’s website. Your work will directly support our mission by ensuring the website is user‑friendly, up‑to‑date, and engaging for visitors, donors, volunteers, and supporters.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Collaborate with the team to design and implement web features and functionality that align with the organization’s mission.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and update the organization’s website regularly to ensure it is responsive and user‑friendly.
• Ensure the website adheres to accessibility and security best practices.
• Assist with integration of third‑party tools (e.g., donation platforms, volunteer management systems).
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to the website or server.
• Implement SEO strategies to improve the website’s visibility and reach.
• Provide technical support and guidance to non‑technical team members as needed.
• Collaborate with other team members on digital marketing, including email campaigns, blog posts, and social media integration.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and front‑end frameworks).
• Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) and website hosting platforms.
• Experience with responsive design and mobile‑first principles.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently.
• A passion for technology and an interest in supporting the mission of a non‑profit.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with remote teams.
• (Nice to Have) Experience with Wix CMS.
• (Nice to Have) Experience with web analytics tools (Google Analytics, etc.).
• (Nice to Have) Knowledge of website performance optimization techniques.
• (Nice to Have) Experience working with non‑profit organizations or community‑based projects.
