We are looking for an experienced Marketing Coordinator to oversee and execute high-impact campaigns for a leading cannabis company based in Los Angeles. This is a full-time, on-site role that requires both creative and operational expertise in cannabis marketing. This role bridges creative, operational, and cross-functional marketing leadership, ensuring smooth execution of launches, campaigns, and activations across multiple channels.

This position requires a hands‑on operator who thrives in structured project management while also driving creative strategy and cross‑department collaboration.

This role is ideal for a marketing professional who thrives in fast‑paced, highly regulated industries and has a passion for building impactful cannabis brands. The Marketing Coordinator will play a pivotal role in shaping how products are launched, how campaigns are executed, and how the brand continues to lead in one of the most competitive markets in the country.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee onboarding and integration of newly hired marketing team members, ensuring they understand company processes, compliance standards, and brand goals.
  • Build and maintain weekly Gantt charts to track payment schedules, team deliverables, and campaign timelines in collaboration with marketing operations.
  • Oversee the marketing intake process for all major initiatives including product launches, grand openings, state launches, and large–scale campaigns, ensuring alignment between executive leadership and the marketing team before project development begins.
  • Bridge communication of upcoming large–scale campaigns, product launches, and campaign updates to the National Marketing Director.
  • Determine project tier levels (1–3) based on scope, resources, and priority, and manage workflow accordingly through Asana.
  • Assign responsibilities across marketing managers and functional teams, such as product development, design, digital, events, media production, and trade marketing.
  • Identify departments impacted by each project (sales, retail, distribution, operations, etc.) and ensure tasks are aligned with the appropriate marketing manager.
  • Schedule and facilitate breakout meetings with project managers and team leads to address project‑specific needs and ensure alignment across functions.
  • Organize kick‑off and brainstorming meetings for all major initiatives, driving creative collaboration while maintaining a structured approach to campaign planning.
  • Track and monitor project progress and timelines within Asana, enforcing deadlines, addressing bottlenecks, and ensuring accountability throughout the execution phase.
  • Conduct weekly and monthly finance and budget reviews to monitor spending, validate invoice accuracy, and provide recommendations for budget optimization.
  • Lead close‑out reports and post‑mortem evaluations for each major campaign, comparing brainstorming outputs with results to identify strengths, weaknesses, and new practices that can improve future projects.
  • This role requires occasional national travel that will be paid for and booked by the company.

Campaign & Creative Oversight

  • Review brainstorming meeting notes with marketing leaders and shortlist ideas before project execution.
  • Schedule and facilitate stamp meetings (decision checkpoints) for major initiatives.
  • Manage trade‑marketing initiatives in collaboration with the trade‑marketing function.
  • Ensure creative campaign planning is innovative, data‑informed, data‑driven, and brand‑aligned.
  • Ensure all campaign standards are met.

Reporting Lines

  • Reports to: Head of Marketing and/or equivalent senior executive.
  • Collaborates with: Cross‑functional leads from design, events, trade marketing, digital marketing, retail, sales, distribution, finance, and operations.
  • Interfaces with: All departments directly impacted by marketing campaigns to ensure alignment and accountability.

Technical Skills & Abilities

  • Exceptional project‑management skills, with advanced experience using tools such as Asana or comparable platforms.
  • Strong financial acumen with the ability to oversee campaign budgets, review expenses, and coordinate financial reporting.
  • Creative thinkers capable of planning innovative, culture‑driven campaigns while maintaining operational discipline.
  • Highly analytical and data‑oriented, able to measure campaign performance and apply insights to optimize strategies.
  • Strong leadership presence, with the ability to inspire teams, manage conflicts, and maintain accountability.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present strategies and results to executives and stakeholders.
  • Must be able to work in a fast‑paced, demanding environment.
  • Ability to work autonomously and take ownership.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Have a sound knowledge of market trends.
  • Attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field; preferred.
  • 2+ years of marketing experience preferred.
  • Experience in a legal cannabis market highly preferred.
  • In‑depth knowledge of cannabis product categories, brands, consumer behavior, and compliance regulations.
  • Proven ability to work with cross‑functional marketing teams, including digital, social, trade, design, events, and media production.
  • Experience with Asana, Odoo, Zoho, Hive, Airtable is preferred.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 15 lbs. to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, sitting at a desk, and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
  • Ability to get in and out of a vehicle and walk up and down stairs during your shift.
  • Must be able to stand, sit for prolonged periods of time, bend, kneel, squat, and twist.
