About the Organization

The Áo Dài Festival is a nonprofit cultural event that celebrates and preserves Vietnamese heritage through the timeless beauty of the Áo Dài, Vietnam’s traditional dress. Founded by attorney and cultural visionary Jenny Do, the festival brings together designers, artists, and performers to create an unforgettable cultural experience. Our 8th festival (ADF8) will be held in May 2026 in San Jose, CA.

Role Overview

We are looking for a Volunteer Graphic Designer to help bring the visual identity of Áo Dài Festival 8 to life. You’ll collaborate closely with the marketing and social media teams to design digital and print materials that reflect the elegance and spirit of Vietnamese culture.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about design, storytelling, and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design digital assets including social media graphics, email headers, event banners, and promotional visuals
  • Create print-ready materials such as flyers, signage, tickets, and the event program booklet
  • Help maintain consistent branding across all channels and campaigns
  • Collaborate with the social media and marketing teams to meet content deadlines
  • Contribute to stage visuals, backdrops, and merchandise designs when needed
  • Receive and incorporate feedback while balancing creativity with brand guidelines


Qualifications

  • Proficiency in graphic design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) or Canva
  • Strong portfolio showcasing both digital and print work
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Detail-oriented, creative, and collaborative
  • Passion for art, culture, and community events
  • Experience with Vietnamese cultural design elements is a plus, but not required
  • Availability for 3–5 hours/week, with flexibility during high-demand periods leading up to the event
