Our client is hiring full-time developers to work on their IoT platform. This opportunity will allow you to play a key role as part of a team innovating in an application area and market segment that will see enormous growth over the next few years. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience with leading-edge technology. We are a small organization with a small Development team. Our Developers work very much as generalists, and this role is no exception - offering opportunities to contribute to projects around Data Engineering, Software Development, Web Applications, Data Science/Analytics and ML.

This role will be responsible for architecture and development of data-oriented applications, the Cloud Services which support them, APIs and communication with Edge IoT devices. Performance and the security of Data and Applications are critical parts of the job.

REQUIREMENTS

It is essential that:

  • You have a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, or another related field
  • You have 5+ years' experience working in Cloud-native and Web-based Software Projects
  • You are an accomplished developer using Python, SQL, JavaScript
  • You are experienced with AWS Infrastructure & Services: ECC, S3, EKS, RDS/MySQL/PostgreSQL
  • You possess in-depth knowledge of SW development, Configuration Management, QA, Security, CI/CD vs build and deploy pipelines
  • You have very strong analytical and problem-solving skills - troubleshooting is a must
  • You have demonstrable leadership skills in both technology and people
  • You can demonstrate experience in REST and Web oriented applications
  • You can build a Software platform that serves both internal developments, as well as SaaS Data Services
  • You are fluent in modern design patterns - specifically Service Oriented Architecture and MVC
  • You know your way around SW development tools - from Version Control through to deployment and application monitoring
  • You have experience working in an Agile development environment, utilizing Continuous Integration and Test Automation tools - including common Agile tools (Jira, Confluence, etc.)
  • Experience in developing applications with both front-end and API (REST, JSON) based client interfaces
Desirable (but not essential):
  • You have demonstrable experience with common Web application frameworks (such as Django, React, Bootstrap...)
  • You have experience with end-to-end IoT systems
  • Some front-end development experience, especially in data visualization, would be useful
  • Familiarity with React.js would be a plus
  • You are aware of Data Privacy and Data Security principles, standards, and regulations (GDPR, ISO 27001, SOC2, PCI, encryption, Authentication & Authorization, Identity & Access Management...)
  • DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering and Secure Development experience would be a huge bonus
  • ML - especially Image Analysis and predictive analytics
  • You have experience working with AWS Platform Services
  • Experience in developing Industrial IoT solutions; at a minimum - familiarity with device to platform communications & control
  • Developing SaaS applications for both internal and client-facing applications
