About The Role

Our North America office is looking for an experienced, social-first, ACD Art Director to serve as the conceptual co-lead across one of our most exciting, culture-focused accounts. This person will help lead the visual side of social content and help push the aesthetic and conceptual foundation of our work. The most important aspect of this role is that it is social-first. This means this person should be highly adept at social, and should be well-versed and up-to-date in social platforms and their current features and trends. This role requires in-depth knowledge of gaming, music, and the creator/influencer space.

The Associate Creative Director, Art will be a key leader responsible for setting and maintaining the aesthetic vision for the team. Reporting to the Creative Director, this individual will manage visual designers, motion designers, and editors, delegate projects, and provide clear, constructive feedback to ensure all assets meet brand guidelines and our highest standards of creative excellence. The ideal candidate is a social-first creative with on-set experience who can confidently lead a portion of the team. This role requires the ability to travel frequently for productions.

A successful ACD will confidently lead and manage the day-to-day progress of a project from start to finish, brainstorm tactics as well as large campaigns, and mentor junior associates.

Responsibilities

Lead and inspire the visual design team, and set the bar for our aesthetic output.

Manage daily project flow, delegate assignments, and ensure timely delivery of assets.

Provide sharp, actionable notes on all visual assets.

Partner with the Creative Director to guide the team's creative vision.

Concept and oversee the visual direction for campaigns, pitches, and productions.

In this managerial-level role, you’ll help oversee the design and delivery of social assets across stills, motion graphics, and edits, and lead concepting and brainstorming for both always-on work as well as campaigns and productions.

This role includes travel to productions, and the chance to be on set, so experience being on-the-ground and helping creatively lead social-first shoots is a must.

You’ll be in direct contact with our client and play a key role in building a prolific partnership.

Collaborate with copywriters to lead frequent brainstorming sessions and opportunities.

About You

The essentials:

You are an aesthetic leader, capable of ushering forward creative excellence in deliveries large and small. You love to push visuals and elevate art direction at every possible opportunity.

Your Adobe skills are strong, and you know how to organize files, layers and folders and wrangle order from your visual team.

You love AI and explore ways to leverage it for creative output.

You are social media-obsessed, with extensive experience creating social content for brands across YT, X, IG, and TT.

You are experienced in and/or passionate about music, culture, gaming, and influencers/creators, and enjoy this space.

You ensure all assets adhere to current brand guidelines and are comfortable being the last stop before delivery to clients.

You communicate clearly and work well with creatives and people from all departments and regions. You’re comfortable presenting internally and to clients.

You safeguard quality and ensure assets are delivered in the correct sizes and aspect ratios, with safe zones and brand guidelines accounted for.

You contribute ideas and best practices to improve work and keep production streams healthy and clients satisfied.

You’ll deliver a high volume of digital assets.

You have at least 6+ years of experience in an Art Director/design role with 2+ years in a leadership role.

You are a proven mentor and enjoy helping others grow.

You are open to freelancing with potential for full-time conversion over time.

This role is subject to our Return to Office (RTO) policy. If you reside within a commutable distance of one of our office locations, you will be expected to work from the office a set number of days per week. Details will follow the current RTO policy.

Monks provides a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what Monks may pay for the position at posting. The salary may vary. The offered salary will be determined based on job-related factors, not on any protected status.

Salary Range $120,000—$140,000 USD
