We're looking for a

Sr. Telecommunications BIM Designer

who is excited about working on projects that enable the heart of our clients’ business. Join us and you’ll have the chance to work on projects, including semiconductor manufacturing industry and other state-of-the-art manufacturing and research facilities. You’ll thrive as you provide design, modeling and documentation services for our telecom design team working on advanced facilities projects that shape our world. This is a hybrid, geographically flexible position in the U.S.

Responsibilities

Document telecom design and expand BIM skillset by working with other BIM designers supporting the project.

Work under the direction of telecom discipline leads to showcase Revit expertise while following Jacobs and client BIM standards.

Use Revit, Navisworks and AutoCAD to create and manage content towards fully coordinated 3D models across all design disciplines (C,S,A,M,E,P,T,I,L) and create 2D construction drawings.

Coordinate with other designers, discipline leads, architects and engineers on the Jacobs design team to turn the design intent into constructable deliverables including clash-free 3D models.

Apply keen attention to detail and established BIM skills to deliver high-quality outputs.

Qualifications

High school graduate or equivalent

At least 8 years of BIM design experience

At least 4 years of relevant experience in telecommunications systems design and construction industry

Understanding of how codes and standards shape design decisions

Understanding of design and construction specifications and their function

Understanding of wiring/cabling connections in relation to a circuit or a link between devices and equipment

Experience following client design and modeling standards

Familiarity with Bluebeam or similar markup software

Effective written and verbal communication skills

Ability to estimate hours required for design and modeling efforts based on provided markups and/or verbal direction requests

Willingness to learn

Ideally, you’ll also have

At least 6 years of Revit and/or AutoCAD design experience

Understanding of clean room and data center environments

Knowledge and design experience with paging, intercom, and audio-visual systems

Knowledge and design experience with life safety and security systems, fire alarm, access control, CCTV

Knowledge of control systems and network components and topology

Pay and Benefits This range is provided by Jacobs. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.

Base pay range:

$80,600.00/yr - $125,000.00/yr

The base salary range for this position is $80,600.00 to $125,000.00; though will be paid hourly based on hours worked. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
