Job Description The Department of Art is seeking a Lecturer in Design for a full-time position focused on professional graphic design practices starting
July 2026 . Hire will teach all levels in the undergraduate major on a ten‑month contract position with a face‑to‑face 4/4 teaching load per year. Areas of specialization include:
Graphic design
Typography
Brand identity
Design entrepreneurship
Design theory
Print production and publication.
The candidate will assist in crafting and maintaining a progressive design curriculum that works within and supports a wider Art program. In addition to teaching, responsibilities include standard service duties, advising, and committee participation. Candidates must have a terminal degree in design with university‑level teaching experience strongly preferred. 5+ years of professional practice and demonstrated typographic skills desired. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Requirements MFA required. Post secondary teaching experience beyond graduate school and 5 years of professional practice preferred.
