Refill Authorization Representative
is responsible for reviewing and processing prescription refill requests in a centralized environment serving multiple Primary Care providers. Acting as a key liaison between patients, providers, and pharmacies, this role ensures that refill requests are handled promptly and accurately, maintaining high levels of customer service and patient satisfaction. Location:
Onsite training required at 7600 Evergreen Way, Everett, WA. Role will become remote following training period. If you reside near Everett, WA, you will enjoy the flexibility to telecommute as you take on some tough challenges. Schedule:
One of two shifts - The shift will be determined by the supervisor upon hire. Shift One: Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm, Shift Two: Tuesday through Saturday 8am-5pm PST. Schedule is subject to change based on business need. Primary Responsibilities
Process Prescription Refills
Review, prepare, and submit medication refill requests to providers for approval, following established protocols Accurately enter patient and prescription information into the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system
Patient & Provider Communication
Respond to patient inquiries both verbally and in writing regarding refill status, dosage instructions, and general medication-related questions within the scope of the role Communicate patient needs and concerns to providers or nursing staff, both verbally and in writing, to ensure timely resolution of refill-related issues
Coordination & Collaboration
Serve as a central point of contact for physicians, nurses, and pharmacies, maintaining open lines of communication regarding patient refills Collaborate with clinical staff to clarify prescriptions, confirm dosages, or address any potential medication conflicts
Documentation & Compliance
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EHR, adhering to clinic policies and HIPAA regulations Protect patient privacy by safeguarding sensitive information and following confidentiality guidelines Complete annual compliance training
Customer Service & Core Values
Provide professional, courteous, and empathetic support to patients, even under high-volume or challenging circumstances Foster a positive and respectful work environment, demonstrating dependability through consistent attendance and punctuality

High School Diploma/GED (or higher) Current certification from WA State Department of Health as a Certified Medical Assistant or WA State Pharmacy Technician license 1+ years of experience with basic computer software and keyboarding 1+ years of customer service experience Reside within a commutable distance to Everett and surrounding communities in Washington Access to a designated quiet workspace in your home (separated from non-workspace areas) with the ability to secure Protected Health Information (PHI) Live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service Preferred Qualifications
2+ years of related healthcare experience (clinic, hospital, or call center) EMR experience Soft Skills
Ability to work independently and maintain good judgment and accountability Demonstrated ability to work well with health care team Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks to meet all deadlines Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to speak clearly and concisely, conveying information in a manner that others can understand, as well as ability to understand and interpret information from others Note: Telecommuters must adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter Policy. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to salary, benefits include a comprehensive package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contributions. The hourly pay for this role will range from $17.74 to $31.63 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
