About the Role The Motion Designer role is an incredible opportunity to work with Directive’s award-winning Creative team. You will be responsible for producing content for various client projects and will work in our Design department. You will create motion graphics content in After Effects, build engaging assets within brand guidelines, and produce animations that connect with target audiences and objectives. You will also engage with clients with strategic ideas and consultative feedback.
We’re looking for someone who is collaborative, deadline-driven, organized, and detail-obsessed, and who is excited to push creative boundaries while delivering high-quality video products.
Responsibilities
Assist in designing and creating storyboards, mood boards, and design frames
Research and analyze design techniques to create motion graphics
Create engaging animations that connect with the target audience and achieve objectives
Manage the entire lifecycle of short-form video creation for internal and external projects
Produce content for use across media, including social, mobile, web, and emerging formats
Take initiative on projects to deliver innovative solutions
Adhere to brand guidelines while pushing creative boundaries
Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to understand brand, audience, and message
Create original designs that communicate the intended message to current and prospective clients
Coordinate production requirements (potentially including VO and music) and provide final approvals
What You Offer
A robust portfolio of completed motion graphic projects
Expert-level knowledge of Adobe Suite and other motion graphics tools (After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere, Cinema 4D, Blender, Animate, etc.)
Interest in new technologies and platforms, including emerging generative AI
Strong visual and conceptual problem-solving skills
Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
Ability to build designs into a multi-channel strategy
Ability to own a project and collaborate as part of a team
Bachelor's degree in Art, Graphic Design, or related field is highly preferred (not a deal-breaker)
Bonus points:
Strong character animation skills
Proficiency in Java for After Effects
3D motion graphics abilities
What Success Looks Like
Regularly meet or exceed client KPIs, with high client satisfaction
Present strategy that gets client buy-in and delivers moments of delight
Projects delivered on time and within scope
Goals
Average Watch Length of Video Content: 25%+
Click-through rate: 10%+
NSM Attainment: 67%
CSAT: 4+
