Job Summary Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a full‑time, non‑tenure track faculty position as Lecturer of Communication in the School of Communication and Media with a preferred start date of August 2026. This is a nine‑month contracted position. This position is for work to be performed in the state of Georgia. Responsibilities Teaching undergraduate courses in non‑fiction production (including COMM 3340, MENT 4454, 4464, JOUR Production Courses) The position primarily requires in‑person instruction with occasional remote and hybrid instruction as needed. Service to the School, College, University, and/or profession is expected. Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines. Required Qualifications A minimum of a Master’s degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Communication, Mass Communication, Journalism, Media Production, or a closely related discipline is required at the time of hire. OR a minimum of a Master’s degree, or the foreign equivalent, in a non‑related discipline with 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline is required at the time of hire. Industry Experience in one or more of the following or other related fields: Multimedia Reporting Broadcast Reporting Documentary Commercial Production Client Relations Entertainment Production Media Management Preferred Qualifications Professional Experience with one or more of the following: Short‑form Media Production Advertising Media Production Contract Media Production (Freelance) Audio Engineering Digital Media Production Sports Media Production Experience in business management of media (e.g., freelance, contract, or agency‑based media production, entrepreneurial practice). Experience in mentoring students in career readiness and client relations, bridging creative and business aspects of media work. Industry‑current skills in: journalism, multimedia production. Experience teaching asynchronous remote or hybrid courses. Record of past teaching at the undergraduate level.
