Overview

Project Manager / Design Department Gander & White Shipping (New York, NY). This is a full-time in-office role based in Long Island City, NY, reporting to the Design Department manager. The position focuses on coordinating and executing high-value interior design shipments, including estimating, booking, managing, and invoicing, for domestic and international shipments.

Responsibilities
  • Client communications including estimating, coordinating, and invoicing for storage, domestic, and international shipments, including ground transports or installation projects.
  • Coordinate bookings of air & ocean shipments; track cargo; advise status to overseas agents; collaborate with the Import/Export department.
  • Coordinate logistics of all shipments for specified customers; provide day-to-day customer service and resolve discrepancies that may hinder shipments.
  • Review and arrange warehouse and packing documents (packing lists, bills of lading, waybills, etc.).
  • Respond to and answer customer questions regarding storage, shipping information, invoices, quotas, and other queries.
  • Review vendor charges, client invoice packages, and file record keeping prior to supervisor submission.
  • Adhere to G+W company practices, systems, and fiscal policies.
  • Issue client communications, estimates, and invoices in a timely manner.
Qualifications / Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the moving industry (residential moving, storage/logistics, or procurement) is preferred.
  • Office-based role located in Long Island City, NY.
  • Ability to handle daily communication with design clients and coordinate various shipments; administration and data input for inventory control; basic FedEx shipments; quoting and executing domestic/international shipments; customer service liaison.
  • Strong multitasking and organizational skills; ability to work independently and within a team; excellent customer service and time management.
  • Willingness to learn and master G+W systems, procedures, and policies.
