What Youll Do
The Team Leader will head a team of compliance officers whose primary responsibilities are the final principal approval of retail communications, as well as internal training content and internal messaging relating to firm business, products, and services. The Team Leader will be responsible for:
- Promoting a sense of partnership between compliance, branch teams and other business areas
- Setting and communicating clear performance expectations and ensuring that work conducted by the team is accurate and completed in a timely and professional manner consistent with the firms culture and values and regulatory requirements
- Oversight of the day-to-day activities and core responsibilities of team associates
- Routinely providing insights on compliance matters
- Leading or participating in projects
- Assisting in the creation and implementation of new or changed policies and procedures
- Contributing to the review of content submitted to CRE
What Experience You Need
- Series 7 and 24 registrations required.
- 5-7 years securities industry experience with a minimum 3 years in a compliance capacity required.
- Comprehensive understanding of industry rules and regulations pertaining to relevant products and acceptable business practices. Ability to interpret emerging regulation, identify and respond to the impact on various Edward Jones products and processes.
- Demonstrated ability to manage through change and ambiguity, make effective decisions, think innovatively, and take initiative, using a team approach, to drive a project from inception to completion with little direction.
- Excellent communication skills, be a competent public speaker, and be able to clearly articulate, communicate and customize the message/information to a wide audience.
- With empathy and emotional intelligence, must be able to deliver difficult and/or complex messages and must have a high level of comfort in communicating with all levels.
- Demonstrate a thoughtful and human-centered approach to building highly effective teams.
What Could Set You Apart
- Bachelors degree preferred.
- Current Series 9, 10, 65 or 66 registrations.
- Graduate level degree or additional industry certification(s) is preferred.
- Current INTERNAL home-based associates: While this role is posted as hybrid, if selected and accepted, you may retain your home-based status. Edward Jones intends in good faith to continue offering the role as home-based, though future business or regulatory needs may require on-site work.
- Candidates that live within a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office three days per week, with preference for Tuesday through Thursday
