Overview
Studio: A stealth mode AAA developer/publisher. Renowned for creating exceptional gaming experiences, the studio is currently working on its first major title—a fully funded AAA project already several years into development, with several years remaining until release.
Location: Remote from the following locations: UK/Europe/MENA/East Coast
Project: AAA open-world action-adventure co-op game to be released on all next-gen platforms.
In this pivotal role, you will produce high-impact video content that promotes the studio’s brand and games. From concept to delivery, you will collaborate with creative directors, producers, and stakeholders to craft cinematic marketing assets such as trailers, gameplay showcases, and social media content that excite and engage players. Additionally, you will mentor junior editors, fostering their creative growth, while managing multiple high-quality projects in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead the creation of various marketing video content, including cinematic trailers, gameplay showcases, feature spotlights, and teasers.
- Collaborate with creative directors, producers, and stakeholders to ensure video content aligns with marketing strategies.
- Direct and oversee editing projects to deliver cinematic quality, engaging storytelling, and emotional resonance.
- Develop innovative concepts for video trailers that generate excitement and highlight product features.
- Mentor and train junior editors, supporting their development in technical and creative skills.
- Stay informed on gaming and entertainment marketing trends to ensure contemporary and impactful content.
- Balance multiple projects, meeting deadlines without compromising quality.
- Utilise expertise in a variety of editing styles, from storytelling-driven narratives to technical gameplay showcases.
Skills & Qualifications
- 7–10+ years of professional video editing experience, with a portfolio showcasing expertise in trailers, gameplay videos, and promotional content.
- Mastery of Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and familiarity with DaVinci Resolve.
- Strong understanding of storytelling, pacing, and cinematic techniques.
- Experience working with raw game assets, including cinematics and motion capture.
- Ability to integrate music, voiceovers, and sound effects to enhance the emotional impact of videos.
- Leadership experience with a proven ability to mentor and guide creative teams.
- Passion for gaming and storytelling, with the ability to adapt to feedback and fast-paced environments.
Pluses
- Experience with Unreal Engine or Unity for capturing in-game footage.
- Background in cinematography, motion graphics, or animation.
- Understanding of social media trends, including vertical and bite-sized content formats.
- Knowledge of 3D asset integration in editing workflows.
- Previous experience in AAA game development or entertainment marketing.
