Overview

Library Aide (PT) at Metropolitan Library System of Oklahoma County. Under the direction of the Access Manager, the Library Aide ensures appropriate and efficient processing and distribution of library materials and provides basic customer assistance. This position is based at the Southern Oaks Library, 6900 S. Walker Avenue, Oklahoma City, OK 73139. This is a part-time role, 20 hours per week, non-seasonal and non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act. Starting pay: $15.00 hourly.

Responsibilities

• Process and distribute library materials accurately and efficiently.
• Provide basic customer assistance and information to library users.

Qualifications

• Education and Experience: One year of high school (9th grade) completed; minimum of 16 years of age.
• Skills and Abilities: Basic knowledge of library operations, policies and procedures; typing/keyboard skills to enter and retrieve data using a computer terminal; ability to file alphabetically/numerically with good spelling and basic math; interpersonal skills to interact with internal and external customers in a courteous and friendly manner.

Work Schedule

• Selected candidate must be flexible with days, evenings and weekends, approximately 20 hours per week.
• Current need requires availability to work shifts: Monday to Wednesday 12:00–5:00 pm and Saturday 12:00–5:00 pm. Hours subject to change based on library needs.
