Job Summary: This position assists with assigned functions of the Catoosa County Library.
Job Duties:
- Provides patron services at the front desk; assists patrons with applications, checking materials in and out, renewing materials, collecting overdue fines, and other tasks as needed
- Answers telephone; provides information and assistance; takes and forwards messages
- Assists patrons with library computers and other electronic resources
- Shelves library materials; reads shelves to determine proper shelving
- Assists with special library events and programs
- Opens and closes library as assigned
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
- Minimum Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
- One year clerical or library related experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of library programs and services
- Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs
- Knowledge of patron services principles and practices
- Skill in providing services to patrons
- Skill in maintaining files and records
- Skill in operating such office equipment as a calculator, copier, and facsimile machine
- Skill in interpersonal relations
- Skill in oral and written communication
