Description

Goshen Public Library is seeking a committed customer service representative to work 15-20 hours/week as a part-time Library Assistant in our Circulation Department. The ideal candidate commits to serving Goshen’s diverse populations and views the library as a place where information transforms lives.

Responsibilities

  • Serving at a public service desk
  • Answering and routing calls
  • Handling library materials
  • Creating library cards and updating patron accounts
  • Answering account questions about and processing payments
  • Completing other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Required qualifications are:
  • High school diploma
  • Desire to welcome and serve a diverse group of patrons
  • Enthusiasm for public service and proactive customer service
  • Computer competency
  • Good organizational skills
  • Great attention to detail
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Preferred qualification are:
  • Fluent in English and conversational Spanish
  • College experience

Flexibility in scheduling is necessary. Days, evenings, and weekends are required. This position will require successful completion of a background check.
