Overview
Are you a driven insurance professional with a passion for agriculture and a strong background in crop insurance? We’re seeking a Crop Insurance Producer to join our team and help expand our footprint in the agri-business sector. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on building relationships with farmers, agri-businesses, and rural communities, and who understands the unique risks and opportunities in the crop insurance market. As a Producer specializing in crop insurance, you will play a critical role in driving revenue growth by cultivating and managing relationships with new and existing clients in the agricultural sector. You’ll work closely with internal teams and external partners to deliver tailored risk management solutions that protect what matters most to our clients—their land, crops, and livelihoods.
Responsibilities
- Develop and grow a book of business focused on crop insurance and agri-business clients.
- Prospect and acquire new clients through community involvement, industry events, referrals, and collaboration with branch leadership.
- Maintain deep knowledge of federal crop insurance programs (e.g., MPCI, Crop-Hail), private products, and Agri-risk management strategies.
- Understand and communicate the value of our crop insurance offerings and how they differentiate us in the market.
- Build strong relationships with farmers, ag lenders, agronomists, and other ag professionals.
- Stay informed on USDA regulations, commodity trends, and weather-related risks impacting the agricultural sector.
- Collaborate with internal service teams to ensure exceptional client experience and policy servicing.
- Partner with carriers and underwriters to structure competitive and compliant insurance solutions.
About You
Required: Bachelor’s degree, 1 year related experience, and appropriate insurance licensing required OR Bachelor’s degree, participation in Gallagher's Sales Internship Program (GSIP), and appropriate insurance licensing required OR High School Diploma/GED and 6 years’ experience.
Preferred: Farm property and casualty insurance. Experience with MPCI, Crop-Hail, PRF, and other USDA-backed programs. Professional designations such as CIC, AFIS, or ARM. Strong understanding of rural/agricultural communities and seasonal sales cycles.
Behaviors: Self-starter with strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Passion for agriculture and helping to manage risk.

We offer a competitive and comprehensive compensation package. The base salary range represents the anticipated low end and high end of the range for this position. The actual compensation will be influenced by a wide range of factors including, but not limited to previous experience, education, pay market/geography, complexity or scope, specialized skill set, lines of business/practice area, supply/demand, and scheduled hours.
