The Hill, a division of Nexstar Media Group, is seeking an Executive Producer of Live News & Original Programming to develop and run the production of long and short form video programming focused on politics and culture.

The Executive Producer will lead a breaking news team, while also driving the development of live, special news coverage and taped political news programming.

Duties & Responsibilities

Lead the production of current weekly political news shows for YouTube, FAST, Digital and Broadcast

Lead the production and creative for live political event coverage for YouTube, FAST, Digital and Broadcast

Manage and mentor producers and editors on daily breaking news hits, daily and weekly shows and special political news coverage

Work with the Sr EP of Hill Video to create a daily editorial news plan for all breaking news hits, shows and platforms

Institute best practice processes for all productions, live or taped

Strong control room lead, including with breaking news

Drive synergy between The Hill, NewsNation, Nexstar DC Bureau

Assist the YouTube manager in the analysis of data and metrics to track performance and identify areas for improvement

Stay current on YouTube platform developments, trends, and training

Perform other duties as assigned by Sr EP of Hill Video

Requirements & Skills

Must have significant experience executive producing or as a senior supervisor for broadcast and digital in national newsroom or top market

Strong news judgement

Understanding of official Washington and national politics

Quick decision maker and creative thinker

Strong leadership skills, able to manage multiple people and projects

Extensive control room and studio experience in a fast‑paced, breaking news environment

Excellent communication skills, both oral and written

Excellent broadcast writing skills

Superior video editing skills

Superior copy‑editing skills are also a must

Must also be capable of interacting positively and productively with other employees all while understanding you are leading by example

Knowledge and familiarity with newsroom technologies including Adobe Premiere, ENPS, OBS, Photoshop

Ability to adapt to change, meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

Flexibility to work different shifts

Salary Range $110,000 - $125,000 commensurate with experience
