The Senior Manager, Communications & Culture will lead strategic communications and culture‑building efforts for the Global Brand Organization and the Chief Global Brand Officer (CGBO). This role is responsible for crafting and executing internal and external communications that amplify the CGBO’s voice and priorities, while also operationalizing a best‑in‑class culture within the brand organization. The ideal candidate is a strategic storyteller, culture architect, and trusted advisor who thrives in a fast‑paced, matrixed environment. Strategic Communications
Develop and execute a comprehensive communications strategy for the CGBO, aligned with Starbucks brand and business priorities. Craft compelling internal communications that cascade the CGBO’s vision, priorities, and updates to partners across the enterprise. Partner with Public Affairs and cross‑functional teams to shape external messaging, including media, speaking engagements, and thought leadership. Ensure consistency of tone, voice, and message across all channels, including integration of global communications into U.S.-focused messaging. Measure success through increased understanding of CGBO priorities across the brand organization and enterprise. Culture Building & Engagement
Design and implement a 12‑month culture‑building calendar that brings the CGBO’s leadership vision to life through programs, rituals, and storytelling. Establish intentional measurement strategies to gauge engagement and cultural impact, setting the foundation for year‑over‑year improvement. Partner with Partner Resources, and other Business Operations & Planning teams to align cultural initiatives with enterprise‑wide efforts. Facilitate & author key cultural moments such as offsites, town halls, and recognition programs that foster connection and belonging. Leadership & Influence
Serve as a strategic advisor to Global Brand Leadership Team, and a connector across the brand organization. Build strong relationships across the enterprise to ensure alignment and amplification of CGBO communications and culture efforts. Operate with high autonomy and influence, despite no direct reports initially. We’d Love To Hear From People With
8+ years of experience in strategic communications, internal communications, or brand culture roles. Preferably with a global consumer brand or retail environment. Proven experience supporting C‑suite executives in a communications or advisory capacity. Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with a keen understanding of tone, voice, and audience. Experience driving internal culture change or transformation initiatives. Ability to navigate complex, matrixed organizations and influence without authority. Passion for brand, culture, and people. Preferred background in organizational development, change management, or employee engagement. Preferred familiarity with Starbucks mission, values, and partner culture. Preferred experience with communications platforms such as Workplace, SharePoint, and internal video tools.
