as a Staff Product Designer in the AI Acceleration team for QuickBooks. The team delivers digital expertise and assistance to Small Businesses using Generative AI technologies to help businesses succeed.
Overview By anticipating future customer needs, business trends, and understanding external technology, our multidisciplinary team propels the next generation of customer experiences.
We’re looking for a Staff Product Designer to imagine, create, and test new Generative AI concepts and interaction models that can solve small business problems. We seek design hackers, pragmatists, and unconventional thinkers to bridge the gap between conceptual design, emerging technologies, and platform capabilities. You should be a maker, not afraid to take on complex challenges that lead to paradigm shifting ideas. You thrive in ambiguity and are a creative systems thinker. You’ll be part of a design team dedicated to proving and creating game‑changing user experiences that power prosperity for our customers.
Responsibilities
Drive and deliver design strategies, frameworks, principles, and designs across a broad range of projects to accelerate large initiatives and align stakeholders across different teams and business units.
Work on scalable platform solutions with velocity and rigor by leveraging and contributing to the Intuit design system and innovating using new and existing tech capabilities.
Lead delivery of high‑level frameworks for understanding the problem space, detailed design specs for E2E initiatives, and ideal‑state prototypes.
Bring a bold vision and design strategy to life across multiple areas in the ecosystem, connecting dots across multiple initiatives to maximize impact.
Apply strategic thinking to design and deliver innovative end‑to‑end user experiences that balance user needs, business goals, and technological realities across web and mobile platforms.
Operate with autonomy and drive design in partnership with stakeholders across Design, Development, Product Management, Data/Analytics, and Service Design.
Use facilitative leadership skills to drive the best outcome for stakeholders, inspiring others to collaborate.
Drive cross‑platform designs to ensure best‑in‑class customer experiences, with a strong focus on mobile‑first approaches.
Serve as a lighthouse example for high‑impact growth design work, setting a gold standard for design practices across the Product organization.
Provide mentorship and thought leadership within the team, cultivating a culture of high velocity, bias for action, experimentation, and shared learning.
Leverage customer insights and data to inform design decisions, ensuring solutions are deeply rooted in empathy and address real user needs.
Demonstrated ability to design and implement intuitive and engaging user experiences specifically for mobile applications (iOS and Android).
Experience adapting complex features and workflows for smaller mobile screens and touch‑based interactions.
Qualifications
8+ years of product design experience with strong visual and interaction skills, including significant mobile app design.
Expert knowledge and experience with user‑centered design processes, collaborating with engineering, product management, and user research teams, with a proven mobile product track record.
Deep knowledge of user experience methods, innovation, ideation, storytelling, prototyping, design frameworks, concept visualization, problem framing, and design principles.
Proven track record in setting a vision for great customer experiences, inspiring others, and delivering delightful products and services.
Exemplary ability to build positive, collaborative relationships across teams via facilitative leadership, raising the bar continually.
Organized, self‑directed, efficient, and able to manage multiple complex projects in a timely manner.
Passion for creating products that resonate on an emotional level.
