About the Team And the Role
An eBay subsidiary, TCGplayer is on a quest to be the most trusted trading card game (TCG) platform—connecting and empowering the hobby community. Trading card games are a $25B global market that creates community connection through in-person games (Pokemon, Magic: The Gathering, Yu‑Gi‑Oh, etc.). Founded by TCG enthusiasts, we operate a global marketplace and create tools, technologies and solutions that help small businesses profitably sell TCGs at scale.
As a User Experience Designer, you will apply your domain expertise and knowledge of UX best‑practices to drive high‑impact product improvements in our Monetization and Compliance group—a critical part of TCGplayer’s product portfolio. In this mid‑level design role, you will partner with cross‑functional peers to design and deliver customer‑centered solutions for hobbyists and professional sellers, focusing on payments, billing, customer fees and related compliance efforts such as Know Your Customer (KYC). You will work within an established design process to create innovative solutions grounded in research and validated through user testing.
What You Will Accomplish
Create UX deliverables throughout the design process, evolving designs from early concepts, wireframes and prototypes to final specifications.
Deliver high‑value features across multiple projects, ensuring design solutions support user needs, align with business goals and positively impact key performance metrics.
Apply advanced knowledge of Figma to create, iterate and hand off design assets while working within an established design system.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teammates to deliver high‑quality solutions that drive seller value, inform product strategy and support data‑driven decision‑making.
Participate in user testing, workshops and research efforts to gather insights and validate design decisions.
Obtain leadership approval and team alignment through compelling storytelling that clearly communicates your ideas and design rationale.
Build knowledge about trends in the trading card game (TCG) space, online marketplaces and best‑in‑class eCommerce and payment experiences—actively sharing relevant ideas and inspiration.
What You Will Bring
3–4 years of experience in a dedicated User Experience Design role with a BA/BS degree in Design, Human–Computer Interaction (HCI) or equivalent practical experience.
Strong portfolio showcasing user‑centered design solutions and problem‑solving skills with measurable impact.
Experience designing billing and payment experiences within an eCommerce or online marketplace context.
Experience designing B2B/SaaS web‑based software with a focus on workflow and task completion.
Experience using research, user testing and both quantitative and qualitative data to inform design decisions.
Knowledge of responsive design principles and WCAG accessibility standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with leading AI tools and examples of how you’ve integrated them into your workflow to generate concepts, improve efficiency or improve quality.
Familiarity with the gaming, hobby or collectibles community—particularly trading card games.
Knowledge of industry compliance requirements, as well as privacy and data protection regulations (domestic and international).
Salary Base pay range: $89,600 - $158,100. Base pay may vary based on location, skills and experience. Total compensation may include a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to medical, financial and other benefits, 401(k) eligibility, and PTO and parental leave.
