PCB Layout Designer - Xpedition / Valor
Bloomington, MN
Contract Position
Contribute to a company at the forefront of mission-critical systems and technologies in defense and security. This leader in global defense integrates advanced technology to deliver information and insights on the battlefield, offering roles that support security and technological superiority across multiple domains.
Responsibilities Join a high-performing team to create detailed, high-speed PCB layouts using Siemens/Mentor Graphics tools for advanced electronic systems.
Perform PCB layout design and documentation based on input from electrical and mechanical engineering teams
Interpret schematics, part lists, and functional/physical design constraints for layout planning
Utilize Siemens/Mentor Graphics Xpedition toolset including:
Xpedition Layout
Constraint Editor System (CES) / Constraint Manager
Drawing Editor
Valor (for artwork checking)
DRC Hazard Checker
Create and maintain electronic library assets (symbols, footprints, geometries)
Conduct Valor and DRC checks to ensure compliance with electrical and manufacturing standards
Review final drawings for accuracy and adherence to engineering drafting standards
Qualifications
U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
Associate’s degree or equivalent required
Minimum 5 years of experience in PCB layout design
Experience designing HDI (High Density Interconnect) PCBs for high-speed signal integrity
Proficient in MIL and IPC standards
Strong expertise with Siemens/Mentor Graphics tools:
Xpedition Design/Layout
Constraint Editor System (CES)
Valor
Drawing Editor
Familiarity with standard PCB documentation and drafting practices
On-site, Hybrid, or Fully Remote options available (based in Bloomington, MN)
