Responsibilities
Meet regularly with internal and external customers to discuss requirements, negotiate facility layouts, point of service, and propose service dates using the most efficient and cost‑effective methods while adhering to codes, standards, and policies.
Conduct field investigations; evaluate service alternatives; determine appropriate standards and specifications; prepare accurate construction drawings, material/labor estimates, and interpret customer survey plats.
Assist in engineering calculations, tables, layouts, studies, and reports.
Communicate and negotiate right‑of‑way easements and permits; determine clearing needs and prepare/secure required documents and drawings per Entergy standards.
Interpret and document tariffs, policies, and procedures related to the Contribution in Aid of Construction (CIAC) process.
Serve as the primary point of contact for customers during the design phase and, when needed, after the design package is released for scheduling and construction.
Coordinate projects with all Entergy departments and appropriate personnel.
Create, approve, release, and assist in the development of project designs when authorized.
Experience and Special Qualifications
Must have one of the following:
At least 1 year of field operations experience (Transmission Line or Substation, Distribution Line or Service, Field Metering).
Completion of Entergy’s Technical Personal Development Program (TPDP).
2‑year technical associate degree in a related field from an accredited institution.
A minimum of 60 college hours toward a 4‑year degree in a related field from an accredited institution.
Effective communication skills (written and oral) with customers, management, co‑workers, and other stakeholders.
Within six months of employment, mastery of Entergy’s safety rules and administration of first aid/CPR.
Completion of Designer Training Modules within 18 months.
Valid driver’s license.
Physical Qualifications
Willing and able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
Strength and endurance adequate for arduous labor as required by circumstances.
Personal Qualifications
Alert in observing hazards to help avoid accidents.
Comfortable working in unusual surroundings and their normal conditions.
