The Role: As the Social Media + Content Associate, you’ll manage content creation, social media management, and community engagement. You’ll collaborate with the marketing team to plan, produce, and post engaging, on‑brand content, especially on TikTok, Instagram, and Pinterest. You’ll also actively participate in community engagement, trend research, and paid media support. The ideal candidate lives and breathes social media—you understand platform performance, authentically adapt trends, and maintain a consistent brand tone and aesthetic. This role reports to the VP of Brand.
How You’ll Spend Your Time Content Creation & Production
Concept, shoot, and edit weekly social‑first video and photo content for TikTok, Instagram, and Pinterest
Capture and repurpose content from shoots, events, in‑house and outsourced UGC, along with behind‑the‑scenes moments in NYC
Edit content using CapCut (or similar software), ensuring alignment with Sonsie's tone and visual identity
Collaborate on campaign content, paid media creative, assist on photoshoots, and coordinate outsourced UGC
Social Media Management
Plan, schedule, and publish posts across all platforms using a shared content calendar
Maintain consistency in tone, visuals, and messaging across channels
Support weekly content planning and strategy discussions with the marketing and creative team
Monitor performance of posts, share insights, and help optimize content for engagement and growth
Community & Trend Engagement
Engage with our audience across TikTok and Instagram—responding to comments, messages, and tags in an organic and true‑to‑brand manner
Identify emerging trends, sounds, and moments that fit naturally within our brand voice
Support the development of platform‑specific strategies that drive growth and strengthen community
Who You Are
Experience:
Entry‑level with at least 1 year of video editing experience, preferably with CapCut or similar, and experience within the beauty industry
Skills:
Strong proficiency in CapCut, Figma, and Google software; excellent eye for video/photo trends; ability to edit and create compelling content quickly
Passion:
Genuine passion for skincare, beauty, and content creation, with a good understanding of the digital landscape, social media trends, and sustainability
Creativity:
Able to think outside the box and produce fresh, innovative ideas for engaging social content
Location:
Based in New York City, NY; candidates in the area preferred for occasional in‑person collaboration
Additional:
Portfolio or Instagram showcasing previous work is a plus
Base Salary: $50,000 – $60,000 (depending on experience)
Bonus: Opportunity for up to 10% annual performance bonus (based on engagement & campaign metrics)
Hybrid work flexibility (in‑person for events, content shoots, and office)
