Location: Rosemont Corridor (Chicago) easy to get to off the Blue line!

Our client is a well-known B2B and B2C, products company in Chicago and they are looking to add a Creative Project Manager with the focus on packaging/label management, to their in-house creative team. This in-house creative team is a very “well-oiled machine” that truly runs like an advertising agency. The focus of this position is to “keep the trains running on schedule” for hundreds of print projects per year!

If you have experience in print, regulatory reviews, coordinating vendors and you know how to set up a smart schedule from the beginning, this position might be a fit! This person must be able to stay on top of due dates throughout the project’s lifetime to ensure that inevitable hiccups don’t affect the long-term success of getting the project launched.

Responsibilities

  • Owns schedule creation and management of individual creative projects from start to finish, ensuring assignments move seamlessly to meet on-time delivery.
  • Familiar with the processes involved to create packaging or labels for consumer packaged goods in the retail sector, including art development and versioning, proofreading, translations, regulatory and legal oversight, approval turnarounds, prepress proofing and print production, and manufacturing plant label requirements.
  • Fluent in all the building blocks of marcom to appropriately schedule the movement of work through the creative process and ultimately print production to ensure labels get to plants on time.
  • Collaborator, influencer and traffic cop, all in one. Possesses a unique skill set to quickly grasp the complexities of a project, negotiate deadlines with a variety of stakeholders, and blow the whistle to stop and divert work when necessary.
  • Uses best-practice tools to manage a high volume of projects at varying speeds and stages, keeping detailed status sheets, leading kickoffs and status meetings, and always—constantly—staying in communication with the cross‑functional team.

Required

  • 3+ years’ experience with project scheduling in an advertising agency or corporate creative department.
  • Familiarity with all types of marketing communications, from digital to print to photography, preferably for CPG brands.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office business programs, Adobe Acrobat, and Basecamp. Workfront experience a plus.
  • Proven ability to manage 100’s of projects in various stages of production.
  • Must be a problem-solver and process ambassador, with strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proactive attitude with a high level of motivation and a strong work ethic.
