Job Purpose
The purpose of this position is to provide high-quality, individualized applied organ instruction to undergraduate music majors, minors, and non-majors at Gonzaga University. The applied organ instructor fosters students’ technical, musical, and artistic development through weekly lessons, performance preparation, and mentorship. This role supports the mission of the Music Department by contributing to a vibrant and inclusive musical community, preparing students for careers in performance, education, and related fields, and promoting excellence in brass pedagogy and performance.

Essential Functions
- Provide weekly one-on-one applied organ instruction to music majors, minors, and non-majors.
- Prepare students for juries, recitals, ensemble performances, and other performance opportunities.
- Maintain regular communication with students regarding progress, goals, and expectations.
- Collaborate with ensemble directors and other faculty to support student performance within the department.
- Submit grades according to established deadlines.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a Music Field
- Evidence of teaching effectiveness, including the ability to effectively respond to the academic needs of learners from diverse backgrounds.
- Evidence of the ability to use effective classroom strategies and pedagogies to advance equity, inclusion, and belonging.
- Strong credentials or experience in organ performance and/or church music
