General Description

SUNY Niagara has a need for a part-time instructor to teach a Public Relations course in our Communication Studies department. Classes are held on the main campus located in Sanborn, NY. Remuneration for this position is: $960 per lecture hour / $860 per lab hour. SUNY Niagara will accept applications on a continuous basis. Openings may or may not exist at this time. Applications are evaluated as needed, and candidates will be contacted when an opening is available.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses in the agreed delivery format.
• Track attendance as needed.
• Report on student learning outcomes at the end of the semester.
• Report grades at the conclusion of the semester.

Essential Functions

Ability to work with and teach a diverse student population. Ability to speak in front of groups. Must effectively communicate with students, co‑workers, supervisors, and the campus community. Must develop, prepare, and present information. Must operate computers. Must physically perform the duties of the position.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communication, Public Relations, or related field.
• Demonstrated evidence of knowledge and experience (educational and/or professional) in the public relations field.
• Excellent oral communication skills.

Desired Qualifications

• Master's degree or terminal degree in Communication, Public Relations, or related area.
• Experience administering public relations campaigns.
• Experience teaching college‑level courses.
• Experience with instructional technology and teaching in virtual formats.

Licenses/Certifications

None required.

Compensation

$960 per lecture hour / $860 per lab hour.
