Assistant Professor of Instruction - Video Production & Documentary (Finance)

The Zimmerman School of Advertising & Mass Communications at the University of South Florida invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Instruction, a nine-month, full-time, continuing non-tenure earning position with a start date of August 7, 2026. Salary is negotiable. The Zimmerman School's location in Tampa, Florida offers opportunities for internships and career advancement in a diverse community near a business and technology corridor. Zimmerman School students participate in more than 100 internships annually in the Tampa Bay area and beyond. On campus, student clubs and associations provide networking opportunities with professionals in business, non-profit, and government organizations.

Responsibilities

This position supports teaching and service duties within the Video Production & Documentary program. The job duties include teaching a variety of video production courses such as electronic field production, Adobe for video and audio, production and direction, documentary film, and video for advertising and promotions. Opportunities could include teaching in virtual production.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Master\'s degree from an accredited institution in video production, film, broadcast news, mass communications or related field, and professional experience and expertise in video production and editing are required. Applicants must submit a video reel.

Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to applicants with experience with mirrorless/DSLR/Cinema cameras, proficiency with video editing software, and at least two years\' experience teaching university undergraduates.
