Content Marketing Coordinator
SUMMARY:
The Content Marketing Coordinator oversees creating digital content for the Catch Des Moines brand across multiple platforms and mediums, including blog, website, social media, annual Visitors Guide and Planner's Guide, advertising copy, and other marketing content. The Content Marketing Coordinator should be a strong writer who will assist in most of the organization's content. This position will work closely with the VP of Marketing, the Director of Creative & Communications, and the Digital Media Manager to elevate the profile of both Greater Des Moines and Catch Des Moines to all relevant audiences.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Curates and manages updating written content including blog, itineraries, website content, and helps with social media content.
Assists with organizational publications and guides, including the Catch Des Moines Visitors Guide and Planner's Guide-contributing content, proofreading, and offering creative ideas to elevate quality.
Researches and monitors trending topics in travel and tourism; provides recommendations on when and how Catch Des Moines should engage or respond.
Manages award nominations by gathering information, drafting submissions, and coordinating entries on behalf of the organization and its representatives.
Collaborates with the Vice President of Marketing, Director of Creative & Communications, and Digital Media Manager to develop monthly editorial calendars for social media, website content, and marketing/advertising initiatives.
Assists with drafting press releases as needed.
Writes and distributes all weekly and monthly radio and TV scripts, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery to media outlets and internal stakeholders.
Supports press trip planning and coordination in partnership with the Director of Creative & Communications and Digital Media Manager; assists with media requests, collateral fulfillment, and interview coordination.
Preferred skills include strong writing skills, experience in graphic design, photography, and videography a plus.
Demonstrates consistent and reliable attendance as an essential part of job performance.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university and/or at least three (3) years of related experience required.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Must possess a valid driver's license and an insured vehicle for periodic business use.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
