We are growing our San Antonio, TX landscape design studio and are seeking a mid‑level Landscape Designer/Architect and Project Manager with strong construction document (CD) experience to join our diverse team of professionals. MIG supports a hybrid work‑from‑home/remote and in‑office schedule, but the person in this position must be able to work from our San Antonio office for a portion of each week and attend in‑person business development and client meetings.

Responsibilities
Work as part of a cross‑office, cross‑discipline team that emphasizes community planning and environmental design for children, youth, and families; parks and recreation; streets, and community facilities for public and private‑sector clients across the U.S.
Participate in a variety of project types, including park planning and design, sports and recreation facility design, trails and non‑motorized transportation plans, streetscape planning and design, site and landscape design for public and private buildings, plazas, and urban environments; campus master plans; children’s play environments; and community engagement.
Project Work
Support lead designers or project managers with tasks such as site analysis, site design, problem solving, construction detailing, planting plans, selection and design of site amenities and paving systems, aesthetic detailing, and project research.
Provide project management, project support, or both depending on the project and team. Work closely with designers and planners to produce project deliverables, develop forward‑thinking designs, strategies, and materials to facilitate project and public meetings. Provide overarching project direction to MIG staff, oversee work products, lead internal and external sub‑consultants and client teams, and develop and manage projects including scopes of work, budgets, and schedules.
Represent clients at public hearings and meetings, maintain client relationships, identify the correct course of action to the client, and set standards for excellence, responsiveness, and accountability.
Produce conceptual exhibits, illustrative graphics, and full construction document sets.
Conduct project research and reports, prepare design presentations, provide support in developing cost estimates, respond to construction submittals and questions, coordinate sub‑consultants and clients, and attend client meetings.
Occasionally travel, work evenings or weekends for community engagement, site evaluations, or to meet deadlines.
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture from an accredited university (a Master’s degree is a plus).
Knowledge and experience with Texas landscapes, including holding a Texas LA license or the interest and ability to obtain one.
Ability to produce high‑quality work products, including complete construction document drawing sets and illustrative site plan and site detail graphics.
Collaborative and participative in small and large group discussions.
Excellent skills in graphics, document presentation, written and verbal communication. Plant identification and hand‑drawn graphic skills are a plus.
Adaptable teammate willing to pitch in and help others.
Software proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, AutoCAD, SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite. Experience in ArcGIS, Lumion, Revit, and/or Rhino is a plus.
Demonstrated experience managing public‑sector projects, maintaining compliance with project contracts, maintaining schedules, and working with clients and partners to execute project work.

Active participation in marketing and business development opportunities, developing proposals for prospective projects, interviewing, and maintaining client and partner relationships.
