Our client is one of the fastest growing MEP Engineering firms operating nationwide and internationally, working to carve out a newer, more efficient niche in the antiquated construction industry. This mid-size team of like-minded innovative engineers continually pursue simple, eloquent solutions to complex problems, minimizing construction costs by focusing on the overall efficiency for the most streamlined design. This comprises Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Sprinkler and Fire Protection services, as well as Building Condition Assessments, Energy Modeling and Design Reviews. Projects include hotels, offices, education, retail and residential (such as passive houses). Our client is an energetic office with a vibe more like a tech firm than an old-school MEP firm, who’ve recently completed over six-hundred quick, affordable, drama-free construction projects in all market sectors!
Job Description:
Excellent position for a MEP/HVAC Project Manager with 5+ years of experience. EIT or a PE is a plus but not at all required. MUST have a solid background in designing and managing HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection engineering and design. You will not be doing MEP design (no AutoCAD or Revit design), you will only be reviewing and managing the projects. FULLY REMOTE!
Responsibilities:
Plans, coordinates, and oversees MEP related activities throughout all phases of pre-construction.
Manages of team of 5+ engineers to ensure their design and quality is code compliant and follows the client requirements, budget, and schedule.
Communicates with clients on a regular basis.
Applies applicable codes and standards to all MEP systems for all projects.
Conducts inspections and site surveys for existing conditions.
100% REMOTE
Qualifications:
5+ years of relevant experience in Mechanical Building Systems.
Strong understanding of the NEC, local, state, and international building codes.
AutoCAD a MUST. (to check drawings, drafting is performed outside the US)
Experience with HVAC systems in large multi-family and commercial buildings.
Must be able to perform local field visits in the NYC area.
Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification would be a PLUS.
MUST have experience with the NYC Department of Buildings.
Strong problem‑solving skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, etc.
