Marketing Communications Manager – San Diego, CA Office BluPeak Credit Union is seeking a Marketing Communications Manager to support the VP of Marketing and Digital Experience by driving initiatives that enhance visibility, digital transformation, and member experience.

Overview The Marketing Communications Manager plays a key role in executing BluPeak Credit Union’s marketing and digital banking strategic plans. The position holds ultimate responsibility for managing the day‑to‑day operations of the marketing and digital banking team and ensuring all messaging and campaigns consistently support the credit union’s brand, member engagement goals, and strategic objectives.

Responsibilities Marketing Strategy & Campaign Management

Develop and implement integrated marketing campaigns to attract, engage, and retain members across digital and traditional channels.

Lead cross‑functional initiatives including product rollouts, promotions, new technology launches, digital channel enhancements, and member onboarding communications.

Oversee the marketing content calendar and coordinate execution across all digital, traditional, and branch channels.

Collaborate with creative and product teams to develop compelling marketing materials aligned with member needs and business goals.

Maintain brand consistency across all internal and external communications and adhere to visual and style guidelines.

Digital & Member Experience Support

Support marketing strategies that drive digital platform adoption and optimize the digital banking member experience.

Oversee the evaluation, development, testing, and implementation of new digital banking platform initiatives.

Evaluate digital member journeys to ensure touchpoints are intuitive, on‑brand, and optimized for engagement and performance.

Use analytics and campaign data to refine messaging, target segments, and improve member communication effectiveness.

Product & Program Marketing

Translate product features and benefits into clear, member‑focused messaging across campaigns and collateral.

Manage marketing for key product areas, particularly deposits and loans, including promotional campaigns and product lifecycle support.

Work closely with compliance and product teams to ensure marketing materials meet regulatory and brand standards.

Support special event planning and implementation, including employee meetings, partner events, membership meetings, media events, business development events, community events, and member education events (e.g., workshops). Provide occasional meeting/event staffing support as assigned.

Team & Project Management

Lead and manage a high‑performing marketing and digital banking team, providing coaching, guidance, performance management, and professional development.

Prioritize and assign marketing projects, ensuring delivery is timely, accurate, and aligned with strategic objectives.

Collaborate cross‑functionally to ensure alignment and support for enterprise‑wide initiatives and campaigns.

Budgeting & Vendor Management

Develop and manage assigned marketing, digital experience, and research budgets, ensuring programs are executed within financial guidelines.

Oversee third‑party vendors and agency partners to support campaign execution, creative development, printing, mailing, and digital production.

Process payables/receivables, provide budget variance reports, expense tracking, and cost‑optimization recommendations.

Lead the development, deployment, and implementation of BluPeak’s marketing automation tools and its integration into enterprise‑wide systems to improve member relationship building and profitability.

Data Analysis & Reporting

Monitor and report on campaign performance, using data insights to enhance effectiveness and inform future planning.

Develop trend reports and performance dashboards to identify engagement, retention, and product penetration opportunities.

Use member segmentation and behavioral data to create targeted campaigns for specific member needs and life stages.

Compliance & Regulatory Support

Ensure all marketing and communication materials comply with credit union policy, financial regulations, brand standards, and internal review processes.

Partner with Compliance, Risk, and Legal teams on required disclosures, privacy notices, fee schedules, and annual publications.

Adhere to company policy, complete annual compliance training, and comply with business continuity and vendor management policy.

Comply with all Anti‑Money Laundering laws and related procedures.

Administrative & Strategic Support

Support annual planning, goal setting, and execution for marketing and digital banking initiatives aligned with organizational objectives.

Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of marketing best practices, financial services trends, and digital tools to drive innovation.

Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental or organizational needs.

Supervisory Responsibilities This position will manage up to six direct reports and carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with BluPeak’s policies and applicable laws. It also supervises third‑party vendors and project teams as assigned.

Qualifications Education and/or Experience B.A./B.S. in Marketing, Communications, or a related field. Minimum five years of direct marketing/communications experience, including at least two years in a management/supervisor role. Strong knowledge of financial institution products, services, and competitors, with experience in promotions, research, public relations, social media, and problem‑solving.

Technology Proficiency Strong phone and MS Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and the ability to learn new programs as applicable. Proficient in desktop publishing, strong word processing and design software skills, and knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and basic HTML.

Other Qualifications

Self‑directed with the ability to prioritize and multi‑task, organize deadlines, and handle a variety of tasks concurrently.

Ability to coordinate efforts through diverse internal and external teams.

Ability to analyze data to identify key findings.

Superior project management, planning, and organizational skills.

Strong team player with the ability to adapt to an ever‑changing, organic environment.

Must be hands‑on with all facets of the job.

Ability to think strategically, as well as tactically.

Salary: USD $78,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year.
