As the Brand Designer for a new direct-to-consumer initiative at Bezos Academy, you will bring our brand to life for a new Bezos Academy business, dedicated to supporting families and young children. This is a unique opportunity to join a team at the beginning, translating a thoughtfully crafted brand strategy and identity into innovative product experiences that make a real difference.
Job Responsibilities
Get hands‑on experience with print design, photo art direction, and mobile product experiences.
Translate brand strategy and identity into innovative product experiences that inspire trust, spark delight, and deliver meaningful impact to the families we serve.
Collaborate closely with copywriters, designers, curriculum specialists, and product partners to create engaging visuals across digital, print, packaging, and product.
Apply creative excellence to every customer touchpoint.
LOCATION
Seattle, WA
Relocation support is available for those willing to relocate to Seattle, WA
This is a full‑time, benefits‑eligible, salaried position.
The full salary range for this position in Seattle, WA, is $98,000 – $157,000 per year. The upper third of the salary range is typically reserved for employees who have been in the role for multiple years and have demonstrated strong performance over time. Starting salary will vary by qualifications and prior experience.
This role includes 15 paid days of vacation, 4 days of paid personal time off, 7 paid days of sick (care) time, 9 paid holidays, 5 paid days off for an organization‑wide winter break, and additional time off if required by applicable law. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
Five years of experience in brand, visual, graphic, or communication design, with a strong track record of building cohesive brand experiences across digital and physical touchpoints
An inspiring portfolio that demonstrates a high level of craft in typography, color, layout, video, and composition—across both print and digital media
Experience contributing to and working within established design systems, with an understanding of how to apply and extend visual guidelines effectively
Understanding of brand strategy and the ability to translate direction into clear, effective storytelling and design
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud and Figma, with working knowledge or interest in using AI‑powered tools to support design exploration and efficiency
Exposure to art direction for photography or illustration, with interest in developing those skills further
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with inclusive design principles with an awareness of how to design for diverse audiences and needs
Experience using motion design or high‑fidelity prototyping (e.g. in Figma) to bring visual storytelling to life
Strong collaboration and communication skills, with a proven ability to work fluently with cross‑functional teams (product, curriculum, content), present design decisions clearly, provide art direction, and incorporate feedback
Comfort and confidence applying user‑centered design principles, including an understanding of UX best practices and iterative, research‑informed design
Working knowledge of both native mobile design systems and responsive web design best practices, ensuring designs are optimized across devices and screen sizes
Skill in illustration, photography, or video editing
