Job Summary The La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club is currently seeking a Sales and Marketing Coordinator to join our team at our beautiful oceanfront property! Essential Duties and Responsibilities The Sales and Marketing Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the hotel’s initiatives designed to drive occupancy, boost revenue, and enhance the guest experience.
The Sales and Marketing Coordinator must be creative, organized, and detail-oriented, with strong communication skills, and a results-driven mindset. This role is expected to be proactive, task oriented, and to take initiative.
Sales Focused
Assist with printing event materials including menus, signage, etc.
Able to tour prospective clients around the event space and guest rooms as needed
Able to work on Saturdays to assist with walk-in clients
Comfortable with telephone solicitation and qualifying potential business
Assist with events as needed
Cross‑training with the other Sales Coordinators
Marketing Focused
Assist in updating and maintaining website content
Maintain company social media platforms – Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn
Maintain company photo and video library
Arrange amenities and on-site tours for media and VIP guests (including accommodations & restaurant reservations)
Maintain contact lists for thorough outreach
Assist in the planning and creation of email outreach as needed
Create and maintain slides for digital display boards
Update and distribute weekly activities and monthly activities calendars
Maintain content on company apps for Membership and hotels
Ongoing audit of third‑party site content for accuracy of content
Coordinate production of all collateral used in each outlet to promote upcoming specials and promotions
General Duties
Effectively prioritize and manage a varied workload to meet deadlines
Proactively communicate progress or potential obstacles in meeting initiatives
Prepare and distribute marketing activities summaries for outlets
Actively research and stay well-informed of emerging marketing trends as well as competitor trends and offerings
Coordinate general office functions such as ordering and re‑stocking supplies, organizing signage
Picks up and routes incoming mail
Other duties may be assigned
Outcome The Sales and Marketing Coordinator will be a key point of contact between internal employees, as well as external partners. It is imperative that this employee employs great organization and the ability to multi‑task, as well as knowledge of the company in general.
Qualification Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Hospitality, or related field preferred
1–2 years of marketing/sales experience, ideally in hospitality
Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar design tools a plus
Experience with social media platforms, scheduling tools, and basic analytics
Highly organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Passion for hospitality, storytelling, and creating memorable guest experiences
Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk; hear; stand; walk; sit; and use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee constantly lifts and/or moves up to 10 pounds. Occasionally, the employee may lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Environment The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Interaction While performing the duties of this job, the employee will interact with hotel guests and vendors and interact daily with employees from most departments within the company. The employee must have the ability to communicate and work effectively with these and other designated internal and external customers.
Scheduling This company operates seven days a week, 24 hours a day. Shifts will generally be rotated unless you were hired for a specific shift, as much as possible to be fair to everyone. At times it may be necessary to move you from your accustomed shift if business or task assignments demand. In addition, it should be understood that business needs determine the number of hours that you work.
