Principal Software Engineer, OCI Media Services
Based in Austin, TX, Nashville, TN or Broomfield, CO. Solving challenging technical problems and leading the design, implementation and operation of cloud services that enable delivery of novel consumer video applications.
Responsibilities
Design cloud services for availability, scalability, observability and testability.
Implement, validate and document services and their component microservices.
Collaborate with engineering teams to deliver and operate cloud services for animation, film and game development studios.
Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry best practices, ensuring compliance and driving innovation.
Launch new cloud services and establish operational excellence.
Lead implementation to realize and achieve the technical vision of the team.
Engage with geographically distributed engineering teams.
Coach and mentor other engineering staff.
Ensure compliance to software development standards, processes and best practices.
Qualifications
BS/CS Computer Science or related field and 5+ years software development experience.
Large/enterprise scale software development and engineering experience with cloud services and distributed systems.
Domain knowledge of media production pipelines, digital asset management, 3D frameworks, rendering workflows and tool chains used by artists, engineers and editors.
Experience as a lead developer in the design, implementation and operation of cloud services.
Experience collaborating with geo‑distributed teams.
Extensive background in software implementation, code and design review, failure root cause analysis.
Design for availability, observability, scalability, testability and recoverability.
