This is especially true for underserved industries like automotive and healthcare, where outdated systems persist due to barriers to entry, legacy software, and high-stakes consequences of hallucinations and failure.
Here at Toma (YC W24), we are bridging this gap by providing a customer‑centric platform to deploy and monitor AI agents, even for non‑technical users. We recently raised a $17M Series A from a16z and are building the future of human‑AI interactions, starting in the automotive industry.
Our Team We’re assembling a team of Avengers: engineers, product managers, former founders, athletes, and leaders from Scale AI, Uber, Rivian, Braze, Microsoft, Amazon, and more. We consider everyone regardless of their backgrounds or identities. Learn more about us here.
About this Role We’re looking for one cracked
Designer
of Everything
who can own design across the board.
You must have an eye for design, ability to wear numerous hats, and a love for getting roasted by customers as you build across product, brand, visuals, and systems.
You’ll partner closely with our CTO, Head of Product, and Head of Marketing, as well as our customers, to bring new products and ideas to life.
This is an in-person role in San Francisco (5 days/week).
What you will do
Own the product design lifecycle: research, wireframes, prototypes, high-fidelity UI, and production-ready assets.
Create our design system in Figma and establish best practices for scale.
Partner with GTM to create external product marketing and social assets.
Define and champion design culture, processes, and tools across the company.
Preferred Qualifications
3+ years of experience designing kickass digital products.
Black belt in Figma and dexterity in AI prototyping tools such as Lovable and Replit.
Knack for finding opportunity in chaos and thriving in a fast‑paced environment.
A portfolio that screams "Picasso who?"
Excellent communication skills.
Bonus Points
Experience shipping beautiful products at early‑stage companies.
Interest in AI, automation, or tools that redefine how ordinary people work.
Ability to ship small code changes using AI coding tools such as Cursor.
Killer backhand on the ping pong table.
