Job Description:
Media Center Leadership Manage the operation, budgeting, and resources of the school's media center, ensuring an inviting, inclusive, and academically supportive environment Curate and maintain print, digital, and multimedia collections that support the school's curriculum, Catholic identity, and student interests Promote literacy and a love of reading through creative programming, book clubs, and reading initiatives Collaborate with faculty to integrate library and research skills into classroom projects and assignments Educational Technology Integration
Partner with teachers to design and implement technology-rich lessons that enhance student engagement and learning outcomes Provide professional development and coaching on effective instructional technology tools, digital citizenship, and online safety Support faculty and students in the use of learning management systems, digital assessment tools, and classroom technology (e.g., interactive displays, 1:1 devices, etc.) Facilitate the collection, inventory, and distribution of school-issued student devices Manage school-issued student device issues throughout the school year including triaging repairs, issuing loaner devices & chargers, etc Coordinate the evaluation, selection, and deployment of new instructional technologies Digital Citizenship and Faith Integration
Model and teach responsible, ethical, and faith-aligned use of digital media and technology Integrate Catholic social teaching and Gospel values into media literacy and technology instruction Guide students and staff in understanding the moral and social implications of technology use Program Administration & Support
Maintain accurate records for circulation, inventory, and technology resources Collaborate with IT staff to ensure smooth operation of networked resources and digital ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Willingness and ability to effectively make known the Catholic Church's teachings through the varied ministry activities expected of this position Willingness and ability to act as an outstanding personal witness to the Catholic faith and religion by living both one's professional and personal life in accordance with the doctrines and moral teachings of the Roman Catholic Church, as embodied in the various documents of the Roman Catholic Church, including, without limitation, the Catechism of the Roman Catholic Church Exhibit the core values of Bishop O'Gorman Catholic Schools: Faith, Unity, Excellence, and Integrity Bachelor's degree in Library Science, Educational Technology, Information Science, or related field Valid teaching or library/media certification Experience working in a school library or educational technology role Strong knowledge of digital learning tools, instructional design, and current educational technology trends Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Ability to work daytime hours, primarily Monday-Friday Clarity of vision Ability to speak English clearly Ability to hear and distinguish sounds, including speech, alarms and other work environment sounds Fine hand motor skills to include and not limited to keyboarding, writing, grasping, holding, and repetitive motion Ability to frequently sit, stand and walk through work day Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds Ability to push/pull up to 50 pounds Ability to intermittently bend, squat, and reach overhead
