Position Summary The Advancement Writer is a key role in supporting the build out of a formal grant and direct mail programs. They are responsible for the development of content for grants/proposals, appeals and newsletters.

Key Responsibilities

Under supervision of the Chief Development Officer, responsible for all stages of the grant & proposal process – researching prospects, writing the proposals and submitting follow‑up reports, to include story development and tracking grant spends.

With guidance from the Chief Development Officer, develop and own the direct mail production process – developing content, working with design teams and mail house, coordinating with the Database Manager and ensuring all parties stay on the production schedule.

Develop content for newsletters and other feature stories.

Produce stewardship reports for leadership donors.

As needed, help with travel briefs and research on donor/prospect profiles.

Qualifications

3+ years of experience in writing for Public Relations, Fundraising, Communications, or a related field.

Hands‑on experience providing engaging content for top management and the public.

Ability to write, edit, and proofread content for various audiences.

Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

A clear understanding of communication channels, including emails and social media.

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business, or a related field.
