This position offers a base pay range of $132,000 – $264,000 per year, with performance bonuses and additional benefits.
Position Summary As a Senior Manager – Apparel Designer specializing in Kids Fashion at Walmart, you will shape the creative vision and execution of private brand kids’ apparel collections. Reporting to the Design Director, you will lead design from concept through production, driving innovation and excellence across multiple brands and categories.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the category expert for kids’ apparel.
Lead seasonal trend and design direction, including print, color, key items, fabrications.
Translate concepts into product lines, ensuring alignment from presentation to final product.
Communicate design vision via digital mood boards, development decks, and inspirational materials.
Develop seasonal color palettes and fabric stories tailored to kids’ apparel.
Demonstrate advanced organizational skills and clear communication across design stages.
Manage a complex multi‑category calendar with overlapping deadlines.
Design and develop products in line with line plans, sales objectives, and market trends.
Deliver industry‑leading styles that reflect Walmart’s design ethos.
Collaborate daily with internal and external partners including merchandising and suppliers.
Support the co‑create process balancing aesthetics, function, and cost.
Build and maintain supplier relationships domestically and internationally.
Champion sustainability efforts in 3D design, material innovation, and sample management.
Mentor junior designers and exercise autonomy.
Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator); experience with AI, Miro, or 3D design tools preferred.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Option 1: Bachelor’s degree in fashion design, textile design, or related area and 6 years’ experience in apparel design, garment construction, or related area.
Option 2: 8 years’ experience in apparel design, garment construction, or related area, plus 3 years’ supervisory experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to align design vision with business strategy; experience managing design teams and seasonal calendars; strong vendor and cross‑functional collaboration.
