Responsibilities
Build seasonal collections based on global and domestic trends.
Provide a brand-specific lens to interpret global trends for Target Gen Z guests.
Continuously evolve and improve design, sourcing, and execution of dresses & woven tops aligned with sustainability initiatives.
Collaborate with Design Director to research and develop seasonal concept visions & direction.
Develop styles that align with brand direction.
Partner cross‑functionally with merchandising, sourcing, sustainability and innovation teams to ensure design and product development synergy.
Collaborate with vendors and sourcing team to bring newness to product development while meeting costing requirements.
Lead preparation for seasonal presentations and meet all calendar deadlines and milestones.
Lead fittings and work closely with technical team on sample execution.
Seek innovation and industry leadership through vintage & market research, fabric innovation, and category‑specific research.
Qualifications
7+ years of design experience in Y&C and/or women’swear, including cut & sew knits, leisure, and sweaters.
Bachelor’s Degree in design.
Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, and Adobe Creative Suite.
In‑depth understanding of knit fabrications and wash treatments.
Strong technical knowledge of knits and sweaters garment construction.
Elevated aesthetic & sense of trend.
Strategic & tactical thinking at a global level.
Strong partnership building skills.
Established relationships with external industry stakeholders.
Independent and team‑oriented work style.
Ability to mentor and grow junior team members.
Excellent time management.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and adept at multi‑tasking.
Work arrangement: This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day based on company needs. Core responsibilities may be performed onsite at the Target HQ in MN or virtually as required.
