Salary Range:

$4,511.76 – $7,201.80 per month (Range 26) based on the current AFT-Classified Professionals Salary Schedule. Positions reflect a 5% shift additive regardless of shift.

Step Placement:

New employees begin on Step A ($4,511.76) with 18 months of verified, paid full‑time equivalent experience, or up to Step C ($4,974.22) with 36 months. 7.5 semester units of directly related coursework equals one year of experience.

Desired Qualifications

Experience in a field requiring extensive public contact

Experience in a call center or alarm monitoring environment

English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and vocabulary

Oral and written communication skills

Modern office practices, procedures and equipment, including computer hardware and software

Record‑keeping techniques

Knowledge of San Diego city streets and thoroughfares

Special Instructions to Applicants

Ability to pass a thorough background investigation.

Conditions of Employment (pre‑employment)

Submit official college transcripts as indicated on the application.

Pass a pre‑employment physical exam with drug screen, at the District’s expense.

Provide a Certificate of Tuberculosis Exam for initial appointment (renewed every 4 years).

Have fingerprints taken by a Live Scan computer at the District’s expense (clearance prior to first day).

Present original documents for proof of eligibility to work in the U.S. as required by the I9 form.

Attend a new hire processing appointment in People, Culture, and Technology Services (HR) located at the District Administrative Offices.

Selected candidates must be willing to adjust work days/hours based on department needs and may be transferred to any site at the Chancellor’s option.
