Associate Creative Director CIVIC NYC, Full-time (3x in office, 2x remote)

YOUR ROLE IN THE COMMUNITY We’re looking for a NYC-area based

Associate Creative Director

with a bold point of view and the ability to shape brand experiences from the spark of an idea to full execution. You’ll join a passionate, collaborative, and culturally fluent team working with some of the world’s most ambitious and innovative brands.

This role requires a natural leader—someone who thrives at the intersection of culture, creativity, and commerce. You’ll bring concepts to life that respond to the current moment and shape what’s next. You’ll collaborate with internal teams, clients, and partners to ideate and execute experiential activations, content, and communication platforms that resonate deeply.

The ideal candidate is a big thinker, trend‑aware, strategically sharp, and ready to lead multidisciplinary teams across both new business opportunities and existing client work.

A sharp creative mind with a proven ability to generate fresh, culturally relevant ideas across disciplines—from environmental design to content and campaign experiences

Leadership and mentorship skills, guiding internal teams while also fostering creativity from junior talent

Excellent communication and presentation skills—confident in client conversations and persuasive in pitch environments

Experience working with internal and external stakeholders, from strategy through to execution, with an understanding of how to translate insights into ideas that drive results

A finger on the pulse of culture, technology, design, and brand storytelling

A portfolio that showcases expertise in brand activations, experiential environments, and integrated campaigns. Examples that include Entertainment brands are a big plus.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Drive concept development from insight to execution, shaping strategic and creative direction for projects

Lead ideation sessions and translate thinking into compelling visual and verbal presentations

Collaborate with producers, strategists, designers, and external partners to bring activations to life

Oversee multiple projects and timelines, ensuring creative excellence and consistency

Stay culturally and technologically curious, sharing emerging trends, creative inspiration, and new tools that can elevate the work.

Represent Civic in new business pitches and client presentations

Champion and protect the creative vision throughout the production process

Expand the creative network with best‑in‑class freelancers, and collaborators as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

Exceptional creative ideation and storytelling ability

Strong leadership, client communication, and team collaboration skills

Deep understanding of experiential and environmental design, with an ability to craft brand experiences in the real world

Awareness of emerging trends in media, tech, design, and social behavior

Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite

Fluent in Google Suite (Slides, Docs, Drive)

Organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage competing deadlines

Experience giving clear and actionable feedback to teams

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in a related creative field or equivalent experience

7+ years of creative agency experience, preferably with a focus on brand activations, experiential, or integrated marketing
