Director of External Communications -- Public Relations Base Pay Range $120,000.00/yr - $140,000.00/yr

Frisco, TX

Responsibilities

Manage the brand’s external communications and oversee communications strategy and brand positioning for various target audiences, reporting to the VP of Marketing & Communications.

Support the development of the Marketing Department’s integrated communications strategy focusing on external brand awareness and brand reputation inclusive of media relations, speaking opportunities, awards and additional content development as needed.

Serve as the day-to-day point of contact for the brand’s PR agency, helping drive quarterly and annual plan development, proactive media relations and storytelling across the brand.

Align external communications strategies with brand milestones, announcements, upcoming projects and initiatives to ensure opportunities to generate brand awareness are leveraged and proactively coordinated.

Work cross functionally with other departments within the company to identify story ideas and additional potential spokespeople to support media relations goals.

Ensure external communications follows brand guidelines, and tone and voice is adapted based on the channel, message and audience(s).

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations or related field.

6-8 years’ work experience including as a leader in communications.

Experience in the fitness industry and/or a strong interest in health and fitness.

Exceptional verbal and written communications skills.

Excellent writing, proofreading and editing skills.

Ability to work independently while following direction as needed, and can manage projects from inception to completion, providing updates to upper management and stakeholders.

Experience regularly working and interacting with multiple Team Members, upper management, vendors and partners in a professional and empathetic manner.

Driven, self-starter with the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.

Proficient in MS Office skills, specifically Outlook, Word and Excel.

Option of hybrid work schedule, Mondays and Fridays in-office.
