Senior Administrative Assistant, UVA Library

The University of Virginia Library is seeking a Senior Administrative Assistant in the Office of the Dean of Libraries. This position will provide a high level of clerical and administrative support to the University of Virginia Library’s Senior Leadership team and the Executive Assistant to the Dean of Libraries.

Responsibilities

  • Advanced administrative coordination to support office operations and special projects.
  • Arrange business travel, coordinate meetings, and support agenda management and expense tracking.
  • Compile data for preparation and editing for senior leaders.
  • Review and answer correspondence, screen callers and visitors, and handle confidential matters.
  • Manage electronic files and produce reports.
  • Organize meetings and materials for special events.
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Experience: 1+ year of relevant experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree.
  • Prior experience providing administrative support to executives or senior leaders.
  • Experience building, organizing, and maintaining a Confluence site.
  • Proven experience coordinating events and managing travel arrangements.

Physical Demands

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job may occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings.

Anticipated hiring range

$21.00 - $25.00 per hour, commensurate with education and experience.

Position Type & Work Location

  • This is a non‑exempt, benefited position.
  • This position is based in Charlottesville, VA, and must be performed fully on‑site.
