Marketing Assistant
Position Title: Marketing Assistant – Public Relations & Marketing Specialist I (Code 29091-SW).
Agency: Danville Community College Division, Danville Community College (Div).
Location: 590 Danville, VA. Work schedule: Monday to Wednesday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Part‑time face‑to‑face role serving the Public Relations & Marketing Department.
Pay Range: $15.00 – $17.00 per hour.
Responsibilities: The role supports purchasing, web development, photography, and general day‑to‑day operations of the department. It builds brand equity and community awareness of DCC programs and services, assists in PR & Marketing initiatives, and performs special assignments such as other duties as assigned or assistance during emergency declarations.

- Assist with PR & Marketing initiatives, including social media and communications.
- Perform other duties as assigned and support emergency declarations when required.
Qualifications:
- Understanding of basic business and marketing concepts.
- Familiarity with social media, social networking, email marketing, and search engines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of organization and attention to detail.
- Comfort with multi‑tasking in a deadline‑driven environment.
- Excellent time management and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated problem‑solving and critical‑thinking skills.
- Strong writing and copy‑editing abilities.
- Ability to work with faculty, staff, students, administration, and community members.
Additional considerations: Relevant marketing experience and relevant purchasing experience may be considered.
Travel: Some travel may be required.
