We invite applications for a tenure-track, 9‑month, full‑time Assistant Professor of Music Theory. Preferred start date: August 2026.

The focus of this position is the teaching of Western music theory and aural skills.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses in Western music theory and aural skills.
• Develop and deliver innovative, student‑centered instruction.
• Engage in scholarly activities and contribute to the field of music theory.
• Participate in service to the department, university, and community.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of successful college/university‑level teaching experience.
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching, scholarly engagement, and service.
• Commitment to student‑centered, innovative pedagogy.

Salary: $67,000–$70,000 per year.
