Under the direction and support of the Director of Student Wellness, the Health Promotion Programs Coordinator (HP Coordinator) works in concert with other Student Wellness health promotion and prevention staff, and collaborates with departments and colleagues across campus to support the overall holistic health and wellness of students by mobilizing and sustaining evidence based and best practice health promotion strategies designed towards student success and personal development, and to contribute to a healthier and well campus culture.

Utilizing ACHA, NASPA and related guidelines, the HP Coordinator manages the planning, implementation, and evaluation of comprehensive, campus-wide health promotion strategies, programs, and services utilizing a public health framework, and the overlay of our eight Dimensions of Wellness. As well, this role supports our sexual health education resources, sleep hygiene and nutrition education, and advises our peer education program 'healthy heels ambassadors' (hha!).

The HP Coordinator is a key role within a larger health promotion, prevention and advocacy team. Additional components of the role include working with the Health Messaging Coordinator to develop, implement and manage digital resources such as online modules, apps, messaging and related digital means that provide 24 hr. resource accessibility to support students' holistic health and wellbeing.

This role is integral to the overall general health promotion strategies on campus, and specifically to the broader population-based education and outreach efforts. The position involves population level and selected group outreach through both in-person and virtual means and creates culturally inclusive health programs and resources to ensure efforts reach all Carolina students. The position reports to the Director of Student Wellness.
