As a Principal Product Manager - Publisher Monetization, you will help Microsoft‑owned and operated publishers grow and expand their business using our products, data, and services through advertising. This role requires deep partnership with Microsoft publishers to develop monetization opportunities, leveraging the freedom and flexibility to use innovative technology in service of their business needs.
We work within Microsoft AI (MAI), an organization responsible for Copilot, Bing, Edge, MSN, and other AI‑first products. The organization has all the ingredients needed for success with Product, Engineering, Research, and Go To Market functions partnering as peers with shared goals. Starting January 26, 2026, MAI employees are expected to work from a designated Microsoft office at least four days a week if they live within 50 miles (U.S.) or 25 miles (non‑U.S., country‑specific) of that location. This expectation is subject to local law and may vary by jurisdiction.
Responsibilities
- Drive business impact across the organization and track success criteria for multiple feature areas.
- Identify long‑term investment opportunities and engage partners to garner support for those feature areas.
- Help define a feature set and facilitate mid‑level usability reviews with customers.
- Own the roadmap for multiple feature areas, and collaborate with a partner team to build golden configurations and drive scenario walkthroughs.
- Scale Product Marketing teams by helping build marketing, roll‑out, and customer support plans, promote the feature areas at large events.
- Partner with others to collect performance metrics and form hypotheses for complex technical needs in order to improve product development in targeted areas.
- Identify features to deprecate, manage customer communities, and build trust with targeted customers.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree and 8+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development, or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years experience working with advertiser, publisher, or marketplace ad technology.
- 2+ years of experience taking a product, feature, or initiative to market (e.g., design, addressing market fit, and launch, internal tool/framework) for advertisers or publishers.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in monetization products and technology.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to changing requirements and deadlines.
- Proven ability to collaborate and contribute to a positive, inclusive work environment, fostering knowledge sharing and growth within the team.
Product Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. A different range applies to specific work locations, such as San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, where the base pay is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
