Job Summary

This position will be located in our Nashville, TN office. The Designer works closely with Account Executives, Clients, and the Customer Support Team to design and specify creative and functional solutions that meet client expectations and project requirements. The role focuses on programming, development, space planning, finish palettes, drawings, specifications, and field verification. It engages with clients, the project team, and external partners to deliver exceptional design solutions that positively influence the client experience, company culture, and mission. Responsibilities

Project Definition and Planning

– Participate or facilitate project meetings to establish clear expectations (scope, deliverables, timeline, roles, and team operations). Contribute to the development and presentation of project design solutions that optimize client space and engagement, and advise on and negotiate design details based on proven practices, standards, and concurrent priorities. Design Process Execution

– Execute multiple projects concurrently with quality, efficient outcomes. Gather programming required to develop or revise schematic designs, outline cost estimates, implement core processes with accountability, identify and resolve issues proactively, and develop finish palettes for client review as needed. Design Consultation and Collaboration

– Engage clients in real‑time to agree on design intent, create drawings, renderings, and other deliverables that illustrate intent, advise on opportunities that address programming needs, coordinate with consultants and installers, and manage project drawings, revisions, and documentation. Customer Experience

– Maintain a professional and positive demeanor in all interactions, communicate transparently, adapt to client needs, and leverage prior experience to enhance the client experience. Qualifications

Education and Experience

Associate’s degree in interior design, interior architecture, or related field. 3+ years of work experience in contract design and/or furniture dealership or construction within a healthcare setting. Proficient in professional design and specifications software (e.g., AutoCAD, CAP Studio, Project Matrix, Project Spec, Configura CET, Revit). Knowledge of contract furniture industry or construction practices, including specification and layout of systems, ancillary furniture, demountable partitions, and contract furniture from programming to installation. Understanding of workplace environmental issues (ergonomics, technology integration, planning), building codes, ADA regulations, Electrical Code, and general building practice (material thickness, installation applications).

Required Skills

Ability to execute multiple projects simultaneously in an organized, creative, and quality‑driven manner. Conscientious, flexible, strong work ethic, and team‑orientation. Effective written and verbal communication across audiences. Proficient in Microsoft Office365 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Preferred

College degree in interior design, interior architecture, or related field from a CIDA‑accredited program. Experience with Configura CET software. NCIDQ certification or state license.
